In 1991, Susan and David Feinberg decided to combine their talents and create MULBERRIBUSH, INC. Susan had graduated from the Bezalel College of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel and worked as a prize-winning graphic artist and illustrator in New York and Boston. David received an MBA with honors at Northeastern University in Boston and worked as a VP of Operations in a New York company in the gifts industry.
Their oldest son was only a year old when MULBERRIBUSH began and in part their new business was inspired by their failure to find clothing for him. As a start, Susan created original designs for T-shirts based on nursery rhymes with coordinating shorts, long pants, and jumpers.
From day one of business, all the clothing has been made from natural fiber which is machine-washable, dryable, and made in the U.S.A. What makes MULBERRIBUSH unique and successful are colorful, whimsical, and fun graphics. The illustrations are inspired by kids' interests, be it trucks, trains, animals, silly jokes, or nursery rhymes. The fashionable colors used in the prints coordinate with the fabrics in the line.
The growth of the business resulted in a higher demand for bigger boys designs. A new line called TUMBLEWEED, which has its own distinctive logo, sizes 6 month to 12 was created. The TUMBLEWEED look is more mature, the colors sophisticated and the themes appropriate for older boys. TUMBLEWEED styles are made from natural fibers and produced in the U.S.A.
A third line for girls was introduced in Spring 1998. It follows the same concept as TUMBLEWEED, but for girls sizes 2T to 14. In Fall 1998, the line was extended with new dresses, fabrics, and designs.
MULBERRIBUSH, INC.'s styles are sold in specialty stores. For a listing of stores in your state, please go to the store locator.
